Fred is a sophomore at Columbia University, majoring in English and French. He feels very passionate about studying literature. To those people who think that literature is a very sterile subject and it can¡¯t be applied to solving problems in the real world, he insists that critical thinking and application of the ideas you get from studying literature can become the most valuable ability you have, even if you don¡¯t notice it growing within yourself. He hopes to dig into literature continuously in the future by going into a master¡¯s and doctorate program with the ultimate goal of teaching at a university.
